4.4-magnitude quake rattles Mendocino County, seismologists report

UKIAH — An earthquake jolted the Ukiah area of Mendocino County Saturday night, according to seismologists.The quake had a magnitude of 4.4, the U.S. Geological Service reported.The temblor was located about 5.2 miles southeast of Talmage, a community in Mendocino County, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The epicenter was also 7.6 miles away from UKiah, according to seismologists.No immediate reports of damage were issued by official agencies in Mendocino County.The quake occurred around 8:45 p.m. on Saturday, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

(BCN) -- A 4.4 magnitude earthquake struck in Mendocino County about five miles southeast of Talmage on Saturday. The quake hit at about 8:44 p.m. and was measured at a depth of about 5.2 miles. A Palo Alto teen's boat was attacked by a killer whale while out to sea off the coast of southern Spain.You may remember we introduced you to Cal Currier last summer when he sailed across the Atlantic Ocean from the East Coast. Well, he and his family went on another adventure this summer, but it was cut short.This was the moment when orcas, also known as killer whales, attacked Cal Currier's boat "Argo."His father immediately called for SOS. LOS ANGELES (AP) — Call him a traditionalist, but Wyndham Clark thinks professional golf is better in the daylight.The U.S. Open co-leader criticized NBC’s decision to put Saturday’s third round in a late broadcast window that forced the final competitors to finish their rounds around sunset. Family of Mission District mass shooting victim speaks out

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- It’s been more than a week since nine people were shot in San Francisco’s Mission District. Recovery for some of those people is only just beginning. KRON4 spoke to a victim's brother about how he's doing now.His brother is praying for a full recovery.Things are starting to look better. Yesterday was the first time Miguel Quintanar was able to leave the intensive care unit -- one week after the shooting."He told me he was just praying and hoping he would be able to see his girlfriend and our mom again," his brother Christian Quintanar said.Miguel Quintanar was one of nine people shot at in the mass shooting in the Mission District on June 9.
