South Bay homeless service provider suspends operations

IMPERIAL BEACH, Calif. -- One of South Bay’s largest homeless service providers, Community Through Hope, suspended services Friday due to a lack of funding. Now, organizers are asking the community for help."Community Through Hope is all about providing to the most vulnerable particularly the unhoused," the non-profit's executive director, Sebastian Martinez, said to FOX 5. As he explained, the organization offers everything from meals to medicine and showers."It sounds small right -- a shower, a meal," Martinez said. Two people were killed and three others were seriously injured after a violent crash in Westwood on Saturday night.Los Angeles police received reports of a major collision on the 1500 block of S. Police are searching for a man who allegedly pointed a cell phone into a Long Beach bathroom stall while a child was inside.The incident was reported Friday at The Pike Outlets shopping center on South Pine Avenue around 2:30 p.m., according to Long Beach police.The boy was using a public restroom when he allegedly saw the suspect pointing a cell phone into his stall. He immediately told a family member what had happened and the incident was reported to the police.The suspect fled the shopping center before authorities could arrive. Shields, who finished with two receptions for 69 yards, scored his first touchdown to make it 17-10 with 1:05 left in the first half and Murray State led the rest of the way.
