LEWISTON, Maine (AP) — Heavily armed police surrounded a home Thursday as they searched for a U.S. Army reservist who authorities say killed 18 people and wounded 13 in a mass shooting at a bowling alley and a bar in Lewiston, Maine.“You need to come outside now with nothing in your hands. Your hands in the air,” police shouted through a megaphone outside the home owned by suspect Robert Card’s relative near the town of Bowdoin.Dozens of law enforcement officials had descended on the property, with extended announcements calling for Card and anyone in the home to come out into the driveway. E. coli cases linked to 4S Ranch restaurant rise to 17

SAN DIEGO -- A total of 17 E. Coli cases, which is four more since Tuesday, are now linked to Miguel's Cocina in 4S Ranch, San Diego County health officials said.Seven people, including four children, have been hospitalized by the bacteria, The County of San Diego Health and Human Services Agency told FOX 5 Thursday in a statement.Those who fell ill range from 6 to 87 years old, per the health department. They reported eating at Miguel's Cocina from Oct. 6 to Oct. 18 and had symptoms from Oct. 13 to Oct. 19.At least one of the seven people hospitalized developed a severe complication called hemolytic uremic syndrome. SAN DIEGO (AP) — DirecTV expanded its reach into college sports when it became the title sponsor of the Holiday Bowl on Thursday.Terms of the deal weren't disclosed and both the satellite TV provider and the bowl said the focus was on the 2023 game, in large part due to conference realignment. AUSTIN (KXAN) – A Travis County judge on Thursday ordered the Texas Education Agency not to release its annual A-F school ratings after more than 100 school districts sued the education commissioner over the anticipated changes to how the scores will be calculated. The districts, including Dallas ISD and Pflugerville ISD, allege the state agency and its top leader did not provide adequate notice, under Texas law, of changes to how the 2022-23 A-F rating will be calculated. The school leaders testified in a hearing earlier this month the changes had the potential to lower scores for campuses even if performance improved.
