Nate Paul’s attorneys seek trial postponement, cite millions of documents to process

AUSTIN (KXAN) – Attorneys for Nate Paul, a federally indicted real estate developer with unique ties to impeached Attorney General Ken Paxton, have asked the court to suspend currently scheduled deadlines, which could move a potential trial to 2024. They say millions of documents still need to be analyzed in the complex financial crimes case, according to an unopposed motion filed Tuesday.Paul, 36, was indicted in early June on eight counts of making false statements and reports to mortgage lenders and credit unions in 2017 and 2018 to secure multiple loans valued over $172 million for his businesses. Each count carries a maximum penalty of 30 years in prison and a $1 million fine.Paul pleaded not guilty to all counts in June, and a federal judge scheduled the case for trial on August 14. Boil water notice issued for Vista Ranch Water System

BASTROP, Texas (KXAN) -- A boil water notice was issued Thursday for customers within the Vista Ranch Water System in Bastrop. The affected area includes all of the Vista Ranch Water System. A release from the system said the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has required Aqua Water Supply Corporation, the operator of Vista Ranch Water System, to notify customers to boil water before consumption, due to "conditions which have occurred recently in the water system." The release also said that portions of the water system experienced low pressure as a result of a water main break on July 13, and the loss of pressure "may have allowed harmful microbes into the water system."Once repairs are complete and the system is restored to normal operating conditions, the system will then be flushed with chlorinated water, and the boil water notice will only be lifted after tests confirm the water is safe to drink, the release said. As St. Paul carjackings and auto thefts decline, more grant funding helps maintain progress

With declines in carjackings and auto thefts in St. Paul, Ramsey County officials said it’s a sign their efforts are working and they announced Thursday they’ve received additional state grant funding to continue.The Ramsey County Youth Auto Theft Intervention Project began in 2021. Lethbridge County formalizes asset retirement policy

This PSAB regulation was first issued in Aug. 2018 and will come into effect for fiscal years beginning on or after April 1, 2022.PSAB Section 3280 is applicable to entities in the public sector which adhere to the Public Sector Accounting Standards (PSAS). County administration held discussions on this standard in the spring of 2023 with the County’s auditors KPMG. The Off Leash Dog Park is one of Coaldale’s most well-used parks.
