DENVER (KDVR) -- Anderson Lee Aldrich, the person responsible for a shooting that killed five people and injured more than a dozen others at Club Q in Colorado Springs nearly a year ago, has been relocated out of the state.A public information officer for the Colorado Department of Corrections told FOX31 that Aldrich was moved "due to safety concerns surrounding his high-profile cases." Club Q shooting victim after sentencing: ‘It’s a weight off my shoulders’ Aldrich pleaded guilty to five counts of murder and 46 counts of attempted murder in June and was sentenced to five consecutive life sentences without the possibility of parole.When Aldrich was sentenced, the El Paso County district attorney said they would be assessed in Denver, and then a determination would be made on which state facility they would serve their sentence.Aldrich is now housed in the Wyoming State Penitentiary.

All NB lanes of Turnpike extension shut down after tractor trailer rolls over in Miramar

All northbound lanes on the Turnpike extension were shut down after a tractor trailer rolled over. Miramar Fire Rescue and Florida Highway Patrol Troopers arrived at the scene, Friday afternoon. 7Skyforce hovered over the scene where the trailer lay on its side on the on-ramp of the Turnpike extension. SAN DIEGO -- Authorities chased a suspect driving a silver Prius on Interstate 5 near San Diego Friday morning. SkyFox followed the pursuit overhead.According to the San Diego Police Department, officers attempted a traffic stop for a speeding vehicle around 9:40 a.m. near the westbound Interstate 8 at Willows Road. Police say the driver of the Prius failed to yield. Widespread rainfall, mountain snow possible in San Diego County SDPD reported "the suspect began making threats that he was going to injure someone" around 10:10 a.m. It's unclear at this time how that message was relayed to authorities.The driver eventually made it to the Interstate 5, and police were able to stop the driver near Highway 78 in Carlsbad.This is a developing story. SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP) — A 5.0 magnitude earthquake struck the northwest Dominican Republic on Friday near the border with Haiti.The tremor occurred at a depth of 12 miles (19 kilometers) just west-northwest of Las Matas de Santa Cruz, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.Officials in the Dominican Republic said the quake was felt in the border town of Montecristi all the way south to the capital of Santo Domingo.It was the strongest earthquake to hit the country this year, Dominican geologist Osiris de León said.Jenrry Castro, mayor of the northwest town of Villa Vazquez, posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, that minor damage was reported in two schools.
