A 93-year-old Berthoud man is missing and considered endangered and authorities are asking for the public’s help in finding him.MISSING/ENDANGERED ADULTGrant Steffen, 93, didn't return to his Berthoud home after outing today as planned. He left the Loveland library driving a 2007 light blue Toyota Matrix sedan (902PEU). His vehicle was last seen on Berthoud Pkwy/CR 14 at 1:27pm. Murder suspect fatally shot by police after assaulting officer in Vernon area

A man who had been wanted on suspicion of murder and attempted murder was fatally shot by police in the Vernon area Wednesday morning after assaulting an officer while attempting to disarm her, authorities said. Officers from a multiagency gang taskforce were searching for the suspect in the Los Angeles Riverbed area between Vernon and Bell around 7:10 a.m. when he was spotted in an encampment, South Gate police Chief Darren Arakawa said. The man, who has not been identified, ran away, jumped over a wall and tried to get into a business in the 5600 block of District Boulevard. A South Gate officer confronted the man, who refused to surrender and instead tried to grab her gun, authorities said. After a struggle, the suspect punched the officer in the face and the officer eventually shot the man twice. Princess Cruises changes cruise route to offer solar eclipse experience

Princess Cruises will be tweaking the route of one of its ships next year to give passengers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience a solar eclipse at sea.The April 2024 cruise aboard the Emerald Princess will have its itinerary altered to coincide with the last solar eclipse to cross North America for 20 years. The cruise will take a brief detour from its 15-day Panama Canal tour to catch the April 8, 2024 eclipse between Cabo San Lucas and Huatulco, Mexico.  "Guests will gather on the top decks and be given special glasses they can wear to safely view the eclipse as astronomy and space exploration enthusiast Fred Cink helps guide their viewing experience," Princess said in a news release. Santa Clara County is finalizing plans to build three new affordable housing projects in San Jose to add more than 300 desperately needed apartments for low-income and homeless residents.This week, the county Board of Supervisors approved spending up to $17.4 million to purchase the properties needed for the new developments. Catalytic converter thieves caught in Santa Rosa after traffic stop

(KRON) -- Two people were arrested and found with a stolen catalytic converter in Santa Rosa on Wednesday, the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office said on Facebook. Police said there were also open cans of alcohol and methamphetamine in the suspect vehicle. The car was pulled over in the area of Todd Road and Stony Point Road at about 1:20 a.m. for an expired registration. After the traffic stop, police learned that the driver of the car did not have a driver's license and the passenger was on pre-trial release for weapons violations. Among those tools were several "bump keys," which SCSO explained are keys that are shaved down to fit into locks they aren't intended for.
